Virgin DI Resin in 1cuft cardboard box is used to remove contaminantes that are generated during wire EDM cutting processes. Compared to regenerated resin, it has the abilty to bring the water dielectric conductivity to lower levels and can achieve finer finishes and tighter tolerances. It also has a longer service life than regerated resin.

Single Source Technologies offers a complete range of deionization resin products for all Wire EDM machines. DI Resins used in Wire EDM machines are typically mixed-bead resins, meaning that both the anion and cation exchange resins are mixed together in a single cartrige or tank. The cation and anion resin beads absorb dissolved mineral solids that contaminate the water dielectric. These contaminants are generated during the normal cutting process on a Wire EDM machine, but can also be introduced when filling up the machine's water reservoir with tap or well water. The levels of dissolved minerals and contaminants need to be kept below a certain threshold in order to obtain satisfactory cutting results, finish, and dimensional tolerances. The deionization resin works together with standard water filters on a Wire EDM to eliminate or decrease dissolved as well as solid contaminants.

Single Source Technologies' virgin DI Resin is formulated specifically for EDM applications and mixed to a ratio that maximizes the resin's service life. Virgin deinoization resin, compared to regenerated resin, has the ability to bring the water dielectric conductivity to lower levels than regenerated resins can. This helps to achieve finer finishes and tigher tolerances and may be a requirement for certain machines. Virgin DI resin also lasts longer than regenerated resin and, therefore, will not need to be exchanged as often which helps reduce maintenance tasks.
