Well known for their high quality, all bedra EDM wires are manufactured in Germany by Berkenhoff GmbH, a global leader with over 100 years of pioneering developments in non-ferrous fine wire manufacturing. Berkenhoff started drawing EDM wires as far back as 1969 and began producing brass wires in 1976.


Berkenhoff is certified to ISO 9002 and its 400+ employees include specialists in chemistry, physics, material sciences, material testing, analysis, quality control, and factory automation. bedra topas® plus X  wire is manufactured to a tensile strength of 500 N/mm2, features a pure copper core and a gamma over beta brass coating. It comes in multiple diameters on a variety of spool sizes. 

bedra topas® plus X was developed for Charmilles machines with X-Technology as an improvement over broncocut® Type X wire. With that it is a highly precise and fast EDM wire. It can reach up to 35% faster cutting speeds compared to plain brass wire using standard X-technology machine settings. It can also be used in specialty aerospace alloy applications and is suitable to bad flushing applications.
